WE TREAT THE WHOLE PERSON
CranioSacral Therapy is a light touch, non-invasive therapy that releases restrictions in the soft tissue that surrounds the central nervous system. This normalization of the environment around the brain and spinal cord increases the body’s ability to self-correct.
We encounter stress of all kinds each day that the body compensates for through a tightening of muscles and soft tissues. This can affect the brain and spinal cord, resulting in impaired function. CST works to release this natural reaction and, as a result, can improve neuromuscular functions, ease emotional pain, and enhance sensory processes and motor coordination. CST is effective for a wide variety of dysfunctions and, since it is so gentle, ideal for people of all ages, from newborns to seniors.
"Craniosacral was exactly what our baby needed and we will continue taking him back to see Monica to help his nervous system develop well. 10000% recommend!"
CST Anxiety, Depression, & Migraines
Emotions find a way to manifest themselves physically and are often linked with tension. CranioSacral Therapy (CST) works to locate these areas of tension that are restricting optimal function of the brain and spinal cord that make up the basis of the central nervous system.
Because of the gentle, calming nature of CST, it is a wonderful therapy alternative for treating both anxiety and depression, as well as a wide range of migraines. As tension is released, the body’s ability to self-correct and combat stress is increased. A calmer nervous system allows for a stronger and more resilient mind and body.
Traumatic brain injuries, including concussions, affect the brain, spinal cord, and all of the central nervous system, making CranioSacral Therapy (CST) an ideal treatment option. Physical trauma not only impacts connective tissue, but can become embedded in it. CST is able to address the physiological/biomechanical stress from the injury, as well as the neurological patterns that may have occurred as a result. The delicate touch of CST is a comprehensive and effective way to address all of these issues.

At Mirashift we have over a decade of training and experience with newborns to teenagers. CranioSacral Therapy is an excellent tool for a wide range of concerns like tongue and lip ties both pre and post procedure, colic, torticollis, plagiocephaly, integration for orthodontics/braces, learning differences, scoliosis, children on the spectrum and so much more.
Additionally, we help students in high intensity sports who have suffered concussions. Working with parents to find the most effective solutions is an important part of our practice.
Somatoemotional Release PTSD & Complex PTSD
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety condition triggered by a single, specific traumatic event. Traumatic episodes such as a car collision, natural disasters, death of a loved one, or sexual assault are examples of events that can trigger PTSD in children or adults.
Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (Complex PTSD) may occur when a person has experienced a series of traumatic events or one prolonged traumatic event such as childhood neglect, domestic abuse, combat or living in a region affected by war.
PTSD and Complex PTSD symptoms can occur daily, and may include panic attacks, flashbacks, nightmares and depression.
CranioSacral Therapy is a non-invasive treatment that assists the body’s ability to self-correct through the central nervous system. It has been successful in treating PTSD and Complex PTSD by releasing emotions that become locked in the body’s connective tissue where emotional pain and memories are stored.
Treatment of PTSD and Complex PTSD may also include Somato Emotional Release, a therapeutic process that incorporates and expands on the principles of CST to help rid the mind and body of the residual effects of trauma and change ingrained emotional patterns. Additionally, CST can improve focus, memory and concentration and increase a person’s ability to control their anger.
Lymphatic Balancing Pre & Post Surgical Procedures
The lymphatic system serves as a filtration system to the body, working to clear toxins and waste to maintain a healthy immune system. Lymphatic balancing is a form of manual therapy that stimulates the motion of fluid and aids in the circulation of blood and lymph.
This increases the body’s ability to self-correct, prepares the body for surgery and can accelerate healing after surgery.
Lymphatic Balancing Pregnancy & Postpartum
Lymphatic balancing during the pregnancy and postpartum period not only helps flush the body of built up fluids, but also assists in soothing hormonal imbalances. This is an excellent way to aid the pregnant body with preparation for birth. CST also addresses the musculoskeletal changes that slowly take place with the posture and body.
At Mirashift, the mother is treated during the postpartum period while she holds the infant, or while the baby rests on her chest and belly. This way, both mother and child receive CST at the same time. CST is an ideal way to address postpartum physical and emotional needs and support the body with breastfeeding while helping the mother regain pelvic health.
Mirashift offers personal guided meditation sessions that are written specifically for you, based on your distinct goals. Clients who practice this guided meditation prior to their CranioSacral session gain the benefit of already being dropped into a state of relaxation.
Beginning CST in this relaxed state of mind and body can further enhance the body’s ability to self-correct with ease.
Meditation Yoga Nidra
Yoga Nidra is a form of guided meditation that uses the mind to help release tension in an over-stressed system while disassociating from thoughts through rotation of consciousness. This type of meditation is particularly useful for those who have experienced trauma or struggle with anxiety. Because trauma can embed itself into mental, physical, and emotional levels of being, Yoga Nidra is a powerful tool in supporting the rebalance and restoration that CranioSacral Therapy seeks to achieve.
